Crypto Commons Gathering 2026 (CCG)

The Crypto Commons Gathering (CCG) is a week-long, participant-driven unconference held at the off-grid Commons Hub in Austria's Höllental valley. Now in its sixth edition, CCG brings together hackers, academics, activists, researchers, and builders to explore how blockchain, tokenization, and decentralized governance can serve regenerative and cooperative ends. Sessions are proposed and scheduled daily by attendees themselves, covering themes such as regenerative finance, myco-economics, mutualist governance, and solarpunk worldbuilding, all filtered through a decolonial, feminist, and multispecies-attuned lens.

The gathering suits commons builders, token designers, degrowth advocates, open-source contributors, and anyone curious about postcapitalist alternatives at the intersection of crypto and community organizing. Beyond talks and workshops, CCG emphasizes collective care through 'commons crews' handling kitchen, cleaning, documentation, and facilitation duties, fostering a temporary self-governed community. For 2026, attendees can also extend their stay into the newly launched Valley of the Commons, a four-week experimental co-living pop-up running immediately after CCG concludes.
