Overview
Avantis is a decentralized perpetuals exchange built on Base that enables traders to long or short synthetic crypto, forex, commodities, and other real-world assets with leverage up to 500x directly from their wallets. Its primary value lies in combining onchain capital efficiency with institutional-grade instruments — giving any user permissionless access to global macro markets previously reserved for traditional finance platforms.
Launched on Coinbase's Base network, Avantis is backed by BASE itself, making it the first perps DEX to receive investment from the network it is built on. The protocol is governed by the Avantis Foundation and powered by its native token $AVNT, which drives incentives, trader rewards, and community governance. Its liquidity model uses USDC as the single collateral type, minted into an LP vault (avUSDC) that functions as the counterparty to all trades.
