EdgeX is a high-performance, orderbook-based perpetual futures decentralized exchange (DEX) built on Ethereum Layer 2 via StarkEx zero-knowledge rollup technology. Founded in 2023 and incubated by Amber Group — a Hong Kong-based digital asset firm managing over $3 billion in assets — EdgeX launched its mainnet in November 2024. The team comprises professionals with backgrounds at Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Barclays, and Bybit, combining institutional finance expertise with deep crypto-native engineering. By November 2025, the platform had grown to over 154,000 users, $437.8 million in total value locked, and a monthly trading volume all-time high of $167.2 billion, positioning EdgeX as the fourth-largest perpetual DEX by volume with approximately 14% market share.
