Pyth Network is a decentralized oracle protocol that sources and delivers real-time price data for over 2,958 financial assets—spanning crypto, equities, FX, commodities, and macroeconomic indicators—directly to smart contracts across 113+ blockchains. Its primary value is enabling DeFi protocols, trading applications, and developers to access institutional-grade, first-party market data on-chain with minimal latency and high confidence intervals.
Launched by the Pyth Data Association, the network was designed to bring the caliber of financial data used by Wall Street institutions into the permissionless Web3 ecosystem. Publishers include over 128 globally recognized financial firms—including Jane Street, Wintermute, Flow Traders, and Revolut—who contribute proprietary market data directly to the network rather than through intermediary aggregators. The PYTH governance token enables decentralized protocol management via DAO.
