Overview
Squid Router (app.squidrouter.com) is a cross-chain swap and bridge aggregator built on Axelar's General Message Passing network. It lets users exchange tokens between different blockchains in a single transaction and signature, rather than manually bridging and swapping through multiple separate steps.
Squid launched in 2022 as the user-facing front end for Axelar's interoperability protocol. Since then it has expanded from a single swap widget into a broader platform combining a consumer web app, a developer API/SDK, and an embeddable widget used by third-party wallets and dApps. The project reports having processed several billion dollars in cross-chain volume and being integrated into products such as wallets and other DeFi front ends, positioning it as backend infrastructure as much as a standalone app.
