Overview — Meteora 2026 Review
Meteora (meteora.ag) is a decentralized liquidity protocol built on the Solana blockchain, designed to be the most secure, optimized, and composable yield layer in DeFi. Its primary value lies in empowering liquidity providers (LPs) and token launchers with advanced automated tools—Dynamic Liquidity Market Maker (DLMM) pools, Dynamic AMM pools, and Dynamic Vaults—that collectively maximize capital efficiency and fee earnings far beyond traditional AMM designs.
Meteora was founded by the veteran team behind Mercurial Finance, one of Solana's first stablecoin-focused DEXs, bringing deep protocol-level expertise to the platform. Officially rebranded and relaunched, Meteora rapidly scaled to become one of Solana's top three DEXs by volume, recording a surge from $987 million in monthly trading volume in December 2024 to $39.9 billion in January 2025—a nearly 40x increase. By mid-2025, the protocol exceeded $1.1 billion in total value locked (TVL) and launched its governance token, MET, in October 2025 with one of the highest initial float rates (48%) in Solana history.
