Overview
Superstate is a financial technology company that tokenizes securities, including funds and public company shares, on public blockchains such as Ethereum and Solana. Its main value is connecting regulated securities with crypto capital markets, with onchain ownership records and support for 24/7 transfers and DeFi use.
Superstate was founded in 2022 by Robert Leshner, who also founded the lending protocol Compound. Its first product was USTB, a private fund investing in short-duration U.S. government securities, launched in February 2024 and open to eligible investors. The company later added USCC, a crypto basis carry fund, and Opening Bell, a platform for tokenizing SEC-registered equity, launched in May 2025. In January 2026 it reported an $82.5 million Series B led by Bain Capital Crypto and Distributed Global, and more than $1.2 billion in tokenized assets. In March 2026 Invesco announced it would take over portfolio management of USTB, while Superstate continues to run the onchain infrastructure and transfer agent services. Superstate Advisers LLC is a registered investment adviser, and Superstate Services LLC is an SEC-registered transfer agent.
