Overview
xStocks is a tokenization platform developed by Backed Finance, in coordination with Kraken's parent company Payward, that issues blockchain-based tokens representing real-world stocks and ETFs on a 1:1 collateralized basis. Its primary value is giving eligible non-US investors continuous onchain exposure to well-known equities such as Tesla, Apple, and Nvidia, letting them trade around the clock across multiple blockchains instead of being limited to a traditional brokerage account and standard market hours.
The product launched in mid-2025 with an initial set of roughly 60 tokenized stocks and ETFs, first going live natively on Solana before expanding to Ethereum, Arbitrum, Mantle, TON, Ink, and other EVM-compatible networks. Distribution grew through the 'xStocks Alliance', a network of exchanges, wallets, and DeFi protocols including Kraken, Bybit, Phantom, Jupiter, and Telegram Wallet that list or route xStocks tokens to end users. Each token is issued through a regulated custodial structure, with the underlying share or ETF held 1:1 against the circulating token supply.
Performance
Tokens settle in seconds on supported blockchains and trade continuously, avoiding the next-business-day settlement of traditional brokerages.

Available through xstocks.fi, partner exchanges Kraken and Bybit, and wallets including Phantom and Telegram Wallet, with a public developer API.
