How We Calculate Utility Score
Our Utility Score is calculated based on a weighted analysis of Platform Functionality, User Experience (UX), Ecosystem Integration, and Active Usage. We evaluate the practical value of the tools, feature availability, cross-chain support, and real-world adoption metrics across the Web3 ecosystem.
Note: Utility scores are dynamic and update as apps release new features or add network support. Users should evaluate features based on their own use cases.

Overview
Sonic is a high-performance EVM Layer-1 blockchain developed by Sonic Labs, capable of processing up to 400,000 transactions per second (TPS) with sub-second finality. Its primary value lies in providing DeFi developers and users a fast, low-cost, and fully EVM-compatible settlement layer without sacrificing decentralization or security.
Sonic Labs evolved from the Fantom Foundation's legacy, inheriting years of research into DAG-based consensus mechanisms. The network is powered by its native token, S, which is used for transaction fees, staking, validator operations, and on-chain governance. Sonic also introduced USSD, a native stablecoin backed 1:1 by U.S. Treasuries and designed to be compliant with the GENIUS Act regulatory framework.
Performance
Sonic delivers 400,000 TPS with sub-second transaction finality and an average transaction cost of approximately $0.001 per operation.
Web
Sonic supports Web3 access via Rabby Wallet, a native bridge portal, staking dashboard, and developer documentation at docs.soniclabs.com.
